Keeping kids safe
Free kid safe movies!

    Finally, the internet now has a safe website for children up to age 13.  With other popular social networking sites like "MySpace" and "Facebook", children are not offered an appropriate venue to connect to other kids as do their parents and older siblings. Forums, blogs, virtual meeting places, and the like have been unavailable to kids because of the prevalence of adult activity, advertisements, and content. For children to partake in a technology that offers them an environment to learn and grow in their computer and social skills, they need a safe website to take advantage of it.

We now introduce the safer, more appropriate option: KidZentral.com

    For parents concerned about online safety, KidZentral finally answers the question of whether or not to allow their children to interact with others on the internet.  That answer is "Yes," at KidZentral.com.  Created and managed by Bill and Shannon (parents of two daughters themselves), KidZentral consists of a kid's social networking site with blogs, photos and more, controlled from a companion parent site, ParentZentral.

    Parents have complete and discrete control of what features their children can or cannot use. Children can post profiles, photos, blogs, a friends list, check the online status of their friends, and send messages to their subscribed friends on KidZentral. To help kids connect with other KidZentral Kids, registered users can find others by general location (however, no information is released identifying the users’ actual locations).  Parents can view summaries of all communications and activity of their children. By logging into ParentZentral, parents can check if their children have been online.  And of course, non-members of the site have no access, period.

Security = Safety
    Security measures will be taken unlike any site of its type currently available to protect children and ensure their privacy. All activity on the site will be logged and tagged with the username and IP address of the author.

Security on this site is multi-layered involving, but not limited to, the following:

  1. National Sex Offender Check of all parent accounts upon subscribing to the site and at annual subscription renewals
  2. No child accounts can become activated until the parent passes the National Sex Offender Check
  3. Photo uploads and Keywords trigger alerts to parents.
  4. KidZentral members area will have NO external links to other sites and no indexing by search engines
  5. No adult access to child's Web sites, although parents DO have access to all information involving their children's accounts via ParentZentral.com

What’s to Come
    These are just the initial features of KidZentral.com. As the project progresses, two more sites will separate the children into a total of three age groups in order to tailor the features for children’s specific growth stages by targeting their age-related interests and abilities. A tots’ site will feature learning games for numbers, shapes, colors, and other primary learning objectives. A kids’ site and a tweens’ site for boys and girls close to their teenage years will offer activities particular to their age groups. The final project will encompass four sites including ParentZentral.

    Additional proposed features for KidZentral.com sites include Instant Messages, Styles (to customize the users’ sites), and Nudges (a virtual person-to-person contact just to say, “Hi”).  Parents can look forward to the ability to check the status of their children’s KidZentral.com login activity through their cellular phones.

Small Price for Peace of Mind
    For less than $2 a month*, parents can feel at ease knowing that their sons and daughters are interacting on a Web site truly designed with children’s safety as the priority.  The $30 yearly subscription includes the annual National Sex Offender Check of the registering parent, one child’s account with KidZentral.com, and the parent-control site ParentZentral.  Parents receive weekly reports of their children’s activity on KidZentral.com.

    The technology behind KidZentral.com.com recognizes inappropriate language that trigger alerts to suspicious activity.  The yearly subscription is minor compared to the advantages that KidZentral.com.com technology, parental controls, security, and Zentral LLC’s devotion to child Internet safety provides to parents and children. * $19.95 yearly subscription rate for 1 Kid's account
